Yoga & Meditation Teacher
Ian was drawn to yoga to help manage long standing lower back pain, from there Ian developed a deeper interest into the broader benefits of yoga. This has led to a desire to learn more and share the benefits of both yoga and meditation. In the Summer of 2017 Ian qualified as a Yoga Teacher and supported this training by becoming a meditation teacher.
Ian lives in Felixstowe and previously worked in the fast-paced world of operational management in an NHS hospital. Ian has developed his meditation and yoga practice to help manage the challenges of his previous role and this has inspired him to share yoga and meditation to help others be the best version of themselves.
I am a 200hr trained yoga teacher and registered nurse, who is passionate about real health for mind, body and soul. In 2019, after nearly 2 decades of working in the NHS, I experienced complete burnout. Utterly exhausted, I was unable to work, study or even exercise due to intense anxiety attacks. At this point, I had been practising yoga for 10 years and it was the one thing I was able to continue to do throughout my recovery. After experiencing all the incredible benefits of a regular yoga practice in my own life, and following encouragement from friends and family, I decided to finally undertake my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2020. I am passionate about supporting others to improve their own lives, holistically, through the exploration of yoga and meditation techniques.
Yoga is my place, my space I go to when I need peace and quiet. It’s my start to the day and my reminder to be present and enjoy the journey. I used to always be busy running about but never getting anything done. Yoga has taught me that rushing only ever slows
you down and it is the lessons you learn that matter. I have learned to try to be less controlling and more open to listening to others and myself. Whatever, I am feeling, there is always a way to work through it, given time.
Yoga is the one activity you can always do regardless of what your body needs....
Good sweaty work out? Yoga. Supplementing your training? Yoga.
Relaxation and restoration? Also, yoga. I know I sound yoga mad, but time and time again I always come back to it and like an old friend, yoga embraces me with love and without judgement.
